Call to Action: Help OGL Protect Endangered Marine Species!

Have you made your New Year’s resolution? Ocean Genome Legacy’s resolution is to double down our preservation of DNA from endangered species like the Guadalupe fur seal.

Now, our goal is to double our marine mammal holdings over the next five years, and we need your help! Your gift of $25, $50, or even $100 or more will safeguard the irreplaceable genomic materials from the world’s most vulnerable marine life. Help expand this vital resource by making your gift today.

These graceful, whiskered marine mammals were hunted to the brink of extinction in the 1800s, and today’s survivors breed on only one place on earth—Guadalupe Island in Mexico. Thanks to a collaboration with animal rescuers at The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, CA, OGL has preserved samples from this rare species.

Your donation allows us to double our commitment to protecting endangered species like these. Please join us in this urgent resolution! Together we can preserve some of the most rare DNA samples on the planet.

OGL continues to build our endangered species collection, which includes dolphins, whales, sharks, seahorses, and more. As a registered scientific institution under CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species), we are able to share these rare materials with scientists around the world. And, in partnering with rescue organizations and conservation programs, OGL also helps protect these species’ futures.
